This is an Iconic landmark project which will celebrate the well-known and much loved British entertainer Dame Vera Lynn who died recently. The site is located on the seafront by the famous white cliffs of Dover the setting of one of her most famous songs and includes a Park and major events venue. Atkins hopes to start formal design next year.

Fairhaven Promenade was a shortlisted entry into the Landscape Institutes National Awards this year. It is a £21m piece of new infrastructure protecting around 2,500 properties from coastal erosion and flooding.

And is sandwiched between an estuary and a historic parkland. The stepped revetment and promenade has created a stunning public realm for recreation for residents and visitors and is a very simple and elegant response to a complex landscape.

This project encompasses around 1km of World Heritage Site streetscape in the heart of Edinburgh's` New Town which was planned in the 18th century. Our Proposals will make the street more conducive for walking and cycling and significantly reducing the dominance of vehicles.

Järnvågsparken & Masthuggsparken are two new parks forming part of a wider programme to reconnect the city and people of Gothenburg to the waterfront, via a new peninsula.

Järnvågsparken is a park that includes a large playground and playscape, situated on top of a road tunnel, which has demanding complex design and construction needs. The themes for the playscape as well as the materials for the park in general are based on a natural coastal concept.

Masthuggsparken is a smaller park / sunken garden. Designed for recreation and play it also acts as a stormwater retention basin holding up to 800m3.

The name derives from a former use of the site by local farmers who tipped their waste sugar beet and covered it in soil, which then developed into a naturalistic park.

Hand sketches were used to explore different hill shapes with the client, sculpturing different masses and volumes on top of the existing land fill. A framework has also been established for the continuing development of the park.
