This project is designed to connect the existing Dubai Red Line to the newly opened Expo-Masterplan – ‘Route 2020’ which comprises of 4 above ground stations, 2 underground stations and 1 interchange station, creating improved public transport connectivity throughout existing Dubai communities. The landscape scope included the re-design of the 14km metro alignment, to promote cycling and pedestrian interconnectivity.

Qetaifan Island North - Lusail, Qatar

The public realm within this extensive master plan includes hospitality and entertainment, as well as residential components. The main connecting element in the master plan is the urban linear park, which is a primary green link that runs through the length of the island functioning as the urban backbone to connect the residential, hospitality, and entertainment zones. In addition to that, several secondary zones of open spaces branch out from the main green link, in order to create semi-private pocket parks and green courtyards that serve their respective zones.

A further major connecting element is the waterfront promenade, which runs along the southern perimeter of the island. The promenade also creates continuity of development, attracting more visitors to the variety of public destinations.
